Choose a job that you love, and you will never have to work for a day in your life- Confucius
College is the perfect time to lay down your plans on where you want to see yourself after you received your diploma. I believe that it is the period wherein we write our goals with the most trust that we will accomplish them.
I plan to start looking for potential companies at the start of my senior year. My plan is to look for a company where I can learn the real thing. Compensation is not an issue for a fresh graduate like me. My ultimate goal is to earn experience.
During my senior year, I will polish my resume, and master writing letter of intents for specific companies. I will do a lot of research about a company's background and character so I will have a better chance of writing something personal for each prospect.
Also by early research of companies, I will learn about their projects, the kinds of work they do, and hopefully they are open for interns. For me, learning about the company increases my chance of scoring an interview that hopefully will lead to employment.
I will also make sure that I have something to write in my resume, so as early as now I need to be active with school activities. A month before graduation, I plan to send out my applications to the companies. By doing so, I believe they will see the my sincere eagerness to join their team. This will also show that I am dedicated to contribute something in their company's growth.
I am eyeing the following companies:
1. Google
I would like to be a "Googler". I want to develop mobile applications or games for Google Play. Also, one of the main reasons why I want to be part of their family is that I think there is a balance between work and play. Their office is so cool and becomes instant stress reliever.
2. Samsung
When we were kids, whenever we get fascinated by a product we promise that someday we will work in their company. Since I began using a phone, I've stick to one brand- Samsung. I know how the phones work, the games, the apps. Sometimes as a user I develop ideas that can further utilize the smartphone and I would like to share it to the team by becoming their member.
3. Supercell
Supercell is a mobile game development company founded in 2010. I play one of their games, Clash of Clans, and got really hooked on it. Since high school, my friends and I are developing our games and characters. So it would be so good if I get to create a game of my own with this company.

Emmanuel "many" Dapidran Pacquiao
Manny pacquiao, a world famous boxer, a basketball team coach, a preacher, a politican. making him influential not just in his country, but also around the world.
he won in many fights and strived hard to attain what he is now. but what do you think about his current hobbies or business. in my opinion he should have focused more on boxing than venturing on different hobby etc. its okay to have a business or investments but doing a lot of it at the same time makes me think why. you have already establish a name why ask for more. he even changed religion and preach he's a professional boxer and that's what he should focus. not waste money on ome hobby
Pope Francis
(Jorge Mario Bergoglio)
Pope Francis is the current leader and head of the church and also one of the most influential persons in the world. before being a priest, he worked as a chemical technician and a bouncer. he also was the former bishop of Argentina. being kind approachable and simple, people accepted him, loved him. even some journalist said that his presence is like a brother coming home from work.

Wish #4: A Bachelor Pad
Can we pretend that air-planes in night sky are shooting stars? I could really use a wish right, wish right now.
That's how a famous song goes, well pretending that I can make a wish out air-planes, I would wish for a bachelor pad. Why? Because it gives a sense of independence. Anything outside the comforts of your home sets the tone for some responsibility.
I know that I would not be achieving a pad in just a snap but if wishes can come true in an instant why not wish for something grand? If I'll be having my own place I will decorate it very laid back just like me. I will provide a space for my Gunpla collection and also a nice spot for my Star Wars stuff.
I'm not the party type of person so I'll be stacking on chips and sodas on the fridge. I will also have a nice television set that can be used for gaming. This place will be a fusion of comfort and independence. I will take care of it the way I take care of my body. I will be very hands on in cleaning and maintaining the place.
Maybe this would be one of my biggest and sensible investments once I get a job.

Wish list #3: The Dweller
ROLEX SKY-DWELLER
What separates a man from a boy? It's their choices. They say that swag is for boys while class is for men. If a pair of shoes can tell a lot about a person, sure the watch he/she is wearing too.
Rolex is the Rolls Royce of the watch industry, its worth is something of very special value. Allow me to put it in a colloquial reaction- a god damn Rolex, 'nuff said. Who would not want to receive this bad boy? Gorgeously wrapped around your wrist, surely time is more relevant than ever. I admire the simplicity and elegance of this watch. Simple yet you can feel the strength and power when wearing one. Definitely one of my dream watches.
This watch is not only significant for time awareness but it also serves as a reminder of what you have achieved in life in order to splurge into this one of a kind possession. This watch literally reminds you that time is gold. If success can be measured by what you wear, definitely this watch can gauge how far you've come.
This baby is on me, once the time has come where I can afford to buy it. This will be one of my investments in the future. Owning just one Rolex, is more than enough for me.
Wish list #2:The Beast Of Possibility
PG UNICORN GUNDAM
It has been said that boys do not give up playing, their toys just get bigger and more expensive.
Being a Gunpla collector, I would not miss wishing for the recently released kit by Bandai, the PG Unicorn. This kit is owned by the main protagonist of the series Gundam Unicorn. This collector's item weights 3370g and the tallest perfect grade so far and the most complex one to build.
A collector like me would love to add this in their collection, plus the fact that it is the latest perfect grade since 2009. This man toy would make every collector's collection a cut above the rest.
The Santa Claus that will give it me is hopefully myself, once the time comes that I'm able to purchase this.
Wish list #1:The Red Monster
HG NEOZEONG
Growing up, I thought of Christmas as a wish granting factory and Santa Claus as a genie disguised in a red suit and white beard. But as the legend goes, we are faced with reality that he does not exist. It was as if every kids rite of passage between genuine happiness and real world awakening.
But this reality that the man in the red suit does not exist did not stop me from wishing for what I want. The only difference now is if ever I have a secret Santa or be a Santa Claus for myself. They say that when you dream, dream big. After all the possibility of having a dream come true is what keeps us going.
As my first wish, I would like to have an HG Neozong, a mobile suit that belongs to the main antagonist of the Unicorn Series of Gundam. This enormous high grade kit's size and weight is 82.4x44.8x35.2 cm and 8140 g, making it the tallest and the 2nd heaviest kit next to HG Deondrobium.
Since I was a kid, 4 or 5 I think, I'm already hooked with anything that has to do with building toys or kits like Lego, car model, and gundam. I just started having the opportunity and means to afford my first love/hobby just now and everything is so surreal.
My secret Santa Claus that might give this is my girlfriend, after all she bought my first kit. She reconnected me to the thing I love the most and that is to build kits.

2nd chances
2nd chances... an opportunity to change or repent for our doings. some people waste it or let it pass , a hope to make things right. this is the main idea of the movie. at first i taught the movie was boring until the story progresses. the dedication to change and the eagerness of others to express themselves. be who really they are. i was moved by the movie because the students, even the future seems dim for them, they were able to stand up and prove others that they can accomplish anything.
i became interested and somehow the movie itself encourages me to hold on, to not give up and face all my fears, my challenges, like the teacher. her determination to change the students, to give them opportunity to change and to have a better future. she didn't give up in spite the situation in that school was terrible. she focused in her goal, believe in her students, and face hindrances. the story gives me the idea to focus on my dreams. that you shouldn't let your problems, lack of hope, or sadness slow you down in achieving your goal.

Magic Lamp
Time has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters.
If I were to find a magic lamp and meet the genie, I would have exhaust his wish-granting power. But of course, there will only be three wishes. I could ask for a car or to be a millionaire or travel the world in three days, but that is not what I needed. Instead of asking something material, I would ask the genie to grant me three chances at turning back time.
I'm always fascinated at the fact that if I have to choose just one skill, it would be the ability to turn back time. Time is a gift, a luxury, a curse, and a traitor all rolled into one. Funny, how our day largely depends on time, not in moments. We measure productivity by the time we spent clicking on our laptops or swinging from one meeting to another. Funny, how we called ourselves lazy if we let hours passed without doing anything.
After deliberately thinking, I only want one wish and that's the ability to turn back time or travel to the past. I'm scared of the future that's why I'm better off with the past. I've always wanted to control time because I felt that my wrong deeds outweigh my right ones, and I want to correct them. I've always felt that I did not use my life well back then and it still haunts me sometimes. Of course, the genie would say three wishes are the maximum but he would grant provided that I only talk to two people from my past and would not change any event from it.
I was about to complain that it is unfair, if I were to have that power, I would have changed every failure to success. But I just shrugged it off, better to have something than nothing at all.
The first person that came into my mind is my late grandfather. If I were to rewind one day from days I spent with him, it would be Christmas Eve, the day before I lost him. Everyone in the house is busy, I'll look for my grandpa, and I will find him in the veranda, reading the papers as usual. I will hug him like it was the first time, hug him so hard that he'll almost faint, and hug him like there's no tomorrow. Right at this moment, I realized how much I'm missing him. I wish that my grandfather is still here so he can hug me back.
He will laugh and ask me why I hugged him like that, that his bones almost broke. I wish we can recreate his last day and be given a chance to play the remote controlled car I have as present on that Christmas. While playing, I wish to hear from him again that I have a bright future ahead of me, that I'll be the best in my field.
After my time with my grandfather, time will transport me to my high school graduation. The second person is my senior self. I wish to see how happy I am with my friends, posing for photos with our diplomas on our hands at that moment. I wish to hear him say that it's the best day ever. I wish that I can warn him that days will not be easy, that life will not be easy once he steps out of his toga. I wish I can remind him that whatever it is you decide to do make sure that you'll learn from it even if you fail or if it will cost a lot. I told him to be calm and think first before he acts, that its okay to enjoy life but he must set a goal in his life. As mentioned in one of my favorite games,"everything is permitted" meaning your free to do anything but you must think about the outcome of your actions. .
Having the ability to turn back time is very tempting. But for me, it is life-altering. Time changes people.

Breakfast for Two
As a little kid, everything may seem perfect. Removing the wrapper of a lollipop or
a candy was already considered a major challenge. Every year that I blow an additional
candle on my cake, I’m starting to doubt if blowing these candles will make my
wish come true. As a young boy, you would always, always look up to your father
as your inspiration in everything. His manliness, the way he handles
situations, the secret pick-up lines and stories about women that he would only
divulge to me while he drinks beer and I drink milk, the logical ways he solves
things, and the way he takes care of my mother.
As a kid, I also began to set standards for
the girl I would like to be romantically involved with in the future. I would
make my mother as my reference when I look for girls at school. As I become a
teen, it seemed like I put a wall between us, maybe because that’s the way it
works for teen boys and their mothers. Little did I know that this wall I built
also prevented me in seeing that she is having the worst days of her life. This
wall protected my privacy as a young man, but it also isolated me to the pains
and the slow drifting apart of the family.
I thought that everything is normal, that
it is normal for adults to argue on things. I was right, arguments were normal,
but the actions and decisions that come with it are called choices. From my
wall, I made a little hole where I can peep everytime they would argue. That’s
the time I see my parents differently, that’s the time innocence slowly went to
the other world. I knew right there, something was wrong. Like a volcano that’s
soon to erupt, I was just waiting for the lava to flow. Then one day, I woke up
and nothing was the same. The breakfast table was set for only two; the house
was silent except for the unspoken feelings of my mother. I cannot muster my
courage to ask her, why it’s just the two of us for breakfast.
But mothers always know how to do it; she
said that in order to grow and find what’s best, sometimes falling apart must
happen. I felt like crying as memories of my childhood came flashing back, the
thought that they will not happen again. But at the same time, a strange
feeling of relief dawned upon me. All those pains my mother endured, all those
harsh words and physical pain I experienced from him are all gone. My mom said
that it is a mutual agreement between them to separate for an indefinite period
of time. It will be just the two of us for now.
If there’s one thing I picked up from their
separation, it’s the value of knowing what you want and when to end something
that is already more harm than good for you. Maybe, we’re one of those modern
families but it does not make us less of a family. He may be up there in the
North, rearranging his life or maybe building another life but to me he will
always be the man who has given me a manual in life no matter what I endured
from him. And to my mother, it may be just the two of us for breakfast but it
will always be my reason to look forward every morning.

last card
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
Most people at my age might be celebrating their first paycheck. Some might consider me too old to finish college. But here's what I have to say, I travelled the road less taken and I lost my way, but I gained so much from the journey and now I'm back on track.
I'm Lawrence Fedrick L, Isleta. My friends call me Rence or Eric. 21 yrs of age. from Malabon City. I'm studying at Far Eastern University Institute of Technology taking up Information Technology Web and Mobile Application.
I spend my leisure time watching movies, animes, and series specially if the genre is scifi. Being a Jedi is secretly imprinted on my DNA, kidding, but I am a huge fan of Star Wars.

If given a chance to have my own exhibit someday, surely it will all be about the Gundam kits I've built through the years. Many might think that kits are just toys meant to be played, but no they are not. The precision and dedication with every model I built makes me proud of what else I can do with my hands.
Women are swoon with my guitar and piano skills, kidding again, but seriously I can play those instruments pretty well. When it comes to love, my friends would always refer to me for love advice, I guess I'm good at it.
To end this, I would like to share that my failures put the winner in me. It's sad that I have to fail first before realizing the value of things, but I guess that's how life goes for everyone. At one point we all have to fall flat on the ground for us to push ourselves back to the top. I've got my last card and I'm laying it down.
